8th grade takes iExplore

Alicia Zeoli shared with me the following about her new class for our 8th grade students.

“iExplore is a hands on curiosity-based class, for 8th graders, focusing on designing, brainstorming, and modern day “hacking”. (No, it’s not the hacking you are thinking of!). In class, students use the Design Thinking process, to “hack” things, for example backpacks, to make them better. post itsAdditionally, students have the opportunity to get hands-on “hacking” ,with circuits and coding, using devices and programs such as: Makey Makeys, Arduinos , MIT’s Scratch , MIT’s App Inventor, etc.  The overall goal of the course, is for students to become curiosity-based thinkers who see things and not only wonder how they can make it better, but have the process and practice to act on their ideas.”
