Elson Oshman Blunt, Upper School math, physics and economics teacher, was recently published in Friends Journal. In his article, Elson describes the basic ideas of ecological economics, which root traditional economic theory in principles of environmental science. Westtown’s economics course exposes students to this theory alongside the traditional approach to the discipline, and this article is an attempt to help Friends worldwide be more aware of this movement within the field of economics.
